Leadership Giving Societies

List of 9 items.

  • Peabody Society: $100,000 or more

    For gifts $100,000 and up. Named for Endicott Peabody, Groton’s founder.
  • Crocker Society: $50,000 - $99,999

    Named for the Reverend John Crocker, Groton's second headmaster who served for twenty-five years.
  • Headmaster’s Captains Society: $46,350 or more

    The Captains level was created in 2014 and changes yearly to reflect the difference between tuition and the true cost of a Groton education. A plaque listing annual donors at the Captains level and above hangs in Headmaster Maqubela’s office.
  • Gardner Society: $25,000–$46,349

    Named for Amory Gardner, one of Groton’s first teachers.
  • Billings Society: $10,000–$24,999

    Named for Reverend Sherrard Billings, another of Groton’s founding teachers.
  • Brooks House: $5,000–$9,999

    Brooks House, for which this is named, is a significant building on the Circle, housing many of our dorms.
  • Hundred House: $2,500–$4,999

    Hundred House, for which this is named, is an iconic building on the Circle that includes the Headmaster’s House and dorms, as well as gathering spaces and administration offices.
  • 1884 Society: $1,884–$2,499

    Groton was founded in 1884.
  • Schoolhouse Society: $1,000–$1,883*

    For gifts from $1,000–$1,883.* The Schoolhouse is the heart and hub of our beautiful campus and the academic foundation of a Groton education.

    *Alumni who graduated from the most recent ten forms are recognized at this level with gifts of $500 and up.

    Groton honors alumni who loyally give year after year to the school. Alumni who have made a gift of any size to the Groton Fund for at least the past five consecutive years are recognized by having a “G” next to their name in the Annual Report of Giving.   

    Many of our alumni, parents, and friends have also chosen to include Groton in their estate plans by making a planned gift to the school. More information is on our Planned Giving page.
